Wicklow Male Voice Choir concert for Ukraine raises €7,500

WICKLOW Male Voice Choir performed to a packed-out audience in St Patrick’s Church as part of a fundraiser for recent Ukrainian arrivals in the area.

he choir initially regrouped to perform live for the first time in nearly two and a half years when they sang at Easter Sunday mass, which acted as a rehearsal for the concert for Ukraine, which ended up raising €7,500 when held last Sunday evening.

Choir member Eamonn Sheridan said: “It was a great night and everything went exceptionally well. We had a full-house and two Ukrainian ladies up on stage singing with us as part of the concert. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed, including those who couldn’t attend on the night but bought tickets anyway to support the cause.”

Wicklow Male Voice Choir will now take a break for the summer before returning to rehearsals in September in preparation for their annual Christmas concert in St Patrick’s Church, which this year will also feature renowned Irish soprano Celine Byrne.
