Taiwan eyeing war in Ukraine with growing sense of crisis | DW News

Taiwan is watching the situation in Ukraine very closely. China views the self-governing island as a renegade province and has vowed to bring it under its control.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping have been working together closely. China has not condemned the invasion. That’s led some to believe it could have similar plans for Taiwan. The island is one of the world’s key economies and is an important source of semiconductor chips.
