Minister Anand to travel to Brussels, Belgium to participate in Ukraine Defense Contact Group and NATO Defence Ministers’ Meetings

Today, Defence Minister Anita Anand will travel to Brussels, Belgium.

On June 15, Minister Anand and Chief of the Defence Staff, General Wayne Eyre, will participate in a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, hosted by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III. This meeting provides an important opportunity for Allies and partners to discuss the current and future defence needs of Ukraine, and to coordinate the provision of military aid to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s unprovoked, unjustifiable, and illegal invasion.

On June 15 and 16, Minister Anand will participate in a meeting of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Ministers of Defence. The meeting will be chaired by the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg.
