Message from the ground in Ukraine: gather photo/video evidence with eyeWitness to Atrocities

Human rights defenders on the ground in Ukraine are recommending the eyeWitness to Atrocities app to those gathering photo and video evidence of potential war crimes. About eyeWitness to Atrocities:
Photos and videos taken with mobile phones can be very difficult, if not impossible, for a court to authenticate. This means the millions of photos and videos taken by courageous individuals in conflict zones around world can rarely be used to seek justice. As a non-governmental organisation, eyeWitness to Atrocities (eyeWitness) solves this problem by partnering with human rights defenders around the world to capture and use verifiable photos and videos. As well as providing partners with our verifiable eyeWitness camera app, we also offer them training on photo and video documentation, legal expertise, and links to key investigative bodies such as the United Nations and the International Criminal Court. All these services are free. By combining law with technology, eyeWitness ensures that images are not only verifiable, but that they can be used to hold perpetrators accountable in courts of law.
